Hey Everyone!!!

Something cool that we did this week was I came down to Demortis to be with Elder Fenn! He is my second companion from my batch. We had a fun time this week getting accustomed to each other even though we’ve been friends for a long time.

We taught a guy named Robert; he was really cool and really is seeking for the truth. After a lesson about the Book of Mormon and Brother George committing to read it every day, he said he had to harvest his peanut crop. We offered our help but of course he said no. We went to some other houses and when we came back we passed Brother Robert harvesting his peanut crop. He was just pulling them out of the ground and of course we were in our White shirts and ties, but we had never harvested peanuts before so we set our bags down and started pulling up these peanut bushes? Plants? I was super surprised to learn that peanuts grow under the ground!  All my life I thought they grew on a vine like grapes or something. After we pulled them up, we pulled them from the plant for him to sell later that day. He disappeared for a sec leaving us to work and came back about 5 minutes later with some of the peanuts we had just harvested! He had boiled them and salted them like they do here. It was a fun experience harvesting peanuts, and gaining the trust of our investigator. We have high hopes for Br. George.

I also have to mention the Solemn Assembly that we all were able to participate in as we sustained President Russell M Nelson as the 17th Prophet of our dispensation. It was so neat to see all of the organizations and levels of the church stand to sustain the Prophet in our time (although admittedly rather weird as only the 3 first presidency raised their hands the first 4 times). I could feel the love that He must have felt as he saw our commitment to follow Jesus Christ through his inspired words. Elder Fenn and I talked a lot about the differences in conference this session with the change of Prophet. Change is sometimes avoided, or even feared. But it was a sign to us that this is not just any church, this is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it has all of the original set-up. Nothing lacking and nothing added except it was commanded through Revelation.

I hope we all had a fun time watching conference and are ready to live the things we have heard from those we sustained.
